Since 1982, the Elks have developed an effective, community-based drug prevention program by partnering with federal agencies including the Drug Enforcement Agency, Office of National Drug Control Policy, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and national organizations such as Pride Youth Programs. These partnerships ensure the Elks Drug Awareness Program addresses the leading drug abuse issues facing communities today
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a Free Throw Program for Youth Ages 8-13. ... The health and safety of our program participants and their families, along with the dedicated volunteers and Elks guests, is our top priority.
Through the Hoop Shoot program, the Elks has been developing and reinforcing grit for nearly 50 years—long before researchers and experts concluded that grit is so important for our children
Elks pledge "So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them." The Elks National Veterans Service Commission takes that pledge one step further, and promises service to our nation's veterans and military members, with a special focus on service to those in need.
Elks joined this movement in 2004. Nationwide they have donated more than 1.2 million dictionaries to third-grade students and their teachers as sponsors of The Dictionary Project over the last 6 years. The Alabama Elks Association understands the needs of an education. With our scholarship program we assist high school graduates pursue their education and dreams.
The Elks National Foundation also awards scholarships with the top scholarship beings fifty thousand dollars.

Alabama Elks Association is proud to support Camp ASSCA! Camp ASCCA is Alabama's Special Camp for Children and Adults. ASCCA is a nationally recognized leader in therapeutic recreation for children and adults with both physical and intellectual disabilities. Providing weekend and week long sessions, Camp ASCCA is open year-round.
